Pretty anxious to bring her home to her 'new' people! We are already reading about our God to her in her "Jesus storybook bible" (Thanks Amanda!) She likes to listen to the stories and softly talks while I am reading, like she's reading too. So sweet. She is already used to praying at meal time and now at bed time too.:)

Drawing near to the end of the second week here and missing my boys like crazy. If any of you see them, please give them a squeeze for me.:) I love them and miss them soooooo much!!!!!

It is funny to see how she belongs to our family already..
She is like Dakota because she is fearless, she is a little daredevil! Great!
She resembles Dayton in that she is loves doing things with her hands..threading beads on a shoe string, doing puzzles, a THINKER!
She is like daddy because she loves CHIPS AND SALSA!! heheheh!:)
And her and her mommy love jewelry!! She loves her sticker earrings and bracelettes, etc. OMG..daddy has already realized that he is in big trouble! hehehe!

We played a little princess match game this morning and watched some Dora in Spanish, which she was glued to. We went for a walk and now she is probably finishing her siesta!
Doctor is coming to our apt. tonight at 6:00. One of the required visits.

Hello from Peru!
Day two went great! Started out a little slow, was NOT IN LOVE WITH THE SHOWER!! Yikes! Haven't gotten there yet this morning!... She walked with daddy to the market and got some bananas and fresh bread and then we played a bit. Nap time was a little late yesterday but she slept for quite a while. We ate some Dominos pizza for lunch, (before nap) which she loved! Later we went to Jockey plaza to get her an umbrella stroller. We ended up with the Disney princess one, she loves it. She keeps leaning out and looking at the princesses. She also LOVES her sunglasses. Even had to wear them at night! She's pretty cool!!! She enjoyed looking at all Christmas decorations and of course the baby dolls and barbies!
Psychologist comes for the first of two visits today at 2:00.

It's true folks! We couldn't have come up with a story this good!

We will start our thanksgiving celebrations a little early! We have so much to celebrate!

Our Gotcha day was absolutely unbelievable!
She was real "sleepy" when we first arrived this morning and the director was in the room showing her our family pictures again. She kept nodding off. They surprised us with a baby book! What??? We couldn't believe it! AND, a huge photo album of pics from her three years of life. We carried her through the orphanage, while we said good-bye and thank you to all her friends and the staff! So horribly sad....but in a good way. Both at the same time! I could not control the tears! The day we had longed for! She's ours!! Well, not officially, we are actually just her legal guardians at the moment. We will sign the official adoption papers in 8 days.
We had to stop by the SNA office to sign some papers and she slept.
Then Maria Elena and Raul dropped us off at home.
We showed her all around & all of her things. We looked at some books and daddy cooked some ravioli for lunch! That chica is a good eater! She loved it! We played with play-do and with some beads and as each minute passed she was more and more relaxed. Our little girl was finally loosening up. She ran, and giggled at her daddy, played with Barney and was a complete crack-up. SHE EVEN TALKED TO US! For the first time. We were like, "did you hear that?? did you hear that?" Smiles all the way around. We think she finally realized that mama and papa weren't going anywhere!! She is crazy nuts about her daddy! HE even gets kisses!!:)
We needed to go get something notarized and she had so much fun! Just the silliest little 3 year old around! When Maria Elena and Raul picked us up they said, "WHO IS THIS GIRL???" They couldn't believe the 180 degree turn around. Now, she is still very, very, shy with folks she doesn't know but, not with us anymore!!!! Ooooooooooooooooh Thank you Lord! Thank you!
So we had a little dinner when we got home and soon it was time for bed. She went potty and got her teeth brushed and we put her in her bed. Not knowing how that would go. I rubbed her back and sang Jesus loves me and Jesus loves the little children and out she went. Haven't heard a peep. A little angel!
We can't wait for tomorrow! A day for just us with no one watching just enjoying each others company!

day 2..dos!!

Thursday November 3^rd

The morning started out pretty similar to yesterday. We picked up the psychologist and headed over to the orphanage. Let me just say that the traffic here is absolutely ridiculous! Never, ever would I obtain a driver's license in Lima Peru. Seems to work for them but I have never seen a city so totally crazy at all times. The cars buzz out our window at all hours of the night.

Any ole' who....We arrive to see our little one dressed in all pink today! Too cute! She was playing around with all the kids when we peered through the window. We entered and she came to us but was completely paralyzed again. We had to start all over. :( So, we gave her the lady bug Keelan had sent for her and it had some bubbles with it. We went outside to show her those, only a little interested. But, we continue to just pass her back and forth and love on her, letting her know that we are here for the long run. We go and play with the other kids, on the little riding toys. She loosens a little. We help her with her lunch, that girl will eat ANYTHING!! I mean, ANYTHING! Because I would liken what was on her plate today to yellow cat puke on a bed of rice. OMG!! Anyways, right after lunch they always brush their teeth, go potty (which she does by herself) and wash their hands. Then...it's nap time for about an hour and a half. So we laid her down and then we went out to lunch for some more chicken and fries with Maria Elena and Raul. When we returned, she was sleepy getting up from nap-time and pretty shy again. Suddenly when the other kids were paying attention to mommy and daddy, she seemed to perk up!! Funny how that works. We gave her some “smarties” and she was sharing them with all her friends:) Soon, we decided to take her out and get her some new shoes. She loved to look all around at everything. Larry tried to get her to pick out a Barbie but she didn't choose one, yet!! She liked to ride on his shoulders on the way to the car:) When we got back, she was laughing so hard at daddy when he was tickling her and lifting her up in the air. Then he chased her all around the circle in the building and she just swung those little arms and laughed! She had relaxed, again.

And now it was time for us to say “Chau” again. Today she didn't cry. I went and washed her hands up for dinner and the house mom took her off to the kitchen.

Can't wait for tomorrow!:)

Wednesday November 2^nd, 2011

The day had finally come! Maria Elena and Raul picked us up and took us to the SNA office. We waited for a while and then had a short meeting with the psychologist, Rosa Torres. She was kind but very down to business. We then went directly to the orphanage Nuevo Futura.. What a fitting name. Especially as it applies to our daughter, a NEW FUTURE! They took us to a little room with some couches and a coffee table. Soon, they brought in the cutest little chic-a-dee ever! Tears filled our eyes. Barney was in hand:) We had a little Barney that aunt Amy had given to her. She loved it. She is very, very, very shy. Almost paralyzingly shy. She came to us but wouldn't crack a smile or speak at all. We had to slowly but surely win our way with her. After a little bit, we went to another room and she was sort of coming sh) and she started crying, really hard. It was absolutely horrible. I was crying, Larry was crying and the director of the orphanage was crying. It was actually a good thing though. They needed to see that she was somewhat “attached” to us. Ooooohhhh my! Our new daughter,, after spending the day with us, did not want us to leave! Broken hearts, all the way around!

11-2-11!! What an amazing day! One that we will never forget!

PUBLISH HIS GLORIOUS DEEDS AMONG THE NATIONS. TELL EVERYONE ABOUT THE AMAZING THINGS HE DOES!!!!!!!out of her shell. She worked all sorts of puzzles and built with some duplo blocks. She is very smart:) We helped her with her lunch and then she got to come out while we went to lunch with Maria Elena, Raul and the director. She was missing her nap and she started looking very sleepy. I took her out of the high chair and held her on my lap and she fell asleep. Soooo sweet little angel. The real ice breaker, when we returned, was some bracelets I had on my wrist. I took them off and let her hold them. Then daddy helped her switch them from one arm to the other. All the while we were referring to each other as Mama and Papa. Eventually, Larry would say, “put one on mama's arm” and I would stick my hand out for her to slip on. But, by the end of day we wouldn't make a move in her direction when Larry said the same thing and she just knew which one was mama and papa!!! Tears rolled down our faces. She knew us as her mommy and daddy! Soon, it was time for us to go for the day and I was leaving her one bracelet and the “house mom” told her we were leaving(in Spanish) and she started crying, really hard. It was absolutely horrible. Good Morning,
Not much time. quick update. just had quacamole sandwich and strawberries for breakfast!!!! Yummy! Loooooooooooove sitting at the huge table with all the kids (with their sweet cups made by Amanda).
Last night the ladies and I took the kids to church in Lima to a fall festival! Super fun! TONS of kids dressed up, pop corn, cotton candy ,worship, and a very nice message about Jesus Cristo. :)
God is surely pouring out his love through these adorable children! It should come as no surprise to us that we have come full circle. The seed was planted...right here, with this group of children, in Chilca Peru!! And tomorrow we will seed that BEAUTIFUL flower blossom.
But today....we will take the kids to the beach! Woooohoooo! How fun that will be! Can't wait to see the joy on their faces when they are told!
